THE DANIEL GROUP PROFILES: Steven Profetto

In our continuing series introducing the incredible team behind The Daniel Group, we’re excited to feature Steven Profetto, who brings a unique combination of over a decade of ministry experience and AVL expertise to the table. With a deep passion for serving churches and creating environments where people can connect with God, Steven’s journey from church leadership to technical ministry is inspiring. In this interview, Steven shares how his experiences in pastoral ministry have shaped his approach to AVL solutions and how he helps churches and organizations thrive with the right technology.

Q: Steven, where did you grow up, and what’s your background? What led you to join The Daniel Group, and what’s your role here?

Steven Profetto: I grew up in a small town in New Jersey, surrounded by family and going to church every Sunday. After graduating high school, I felt called to ministry and went to study at the University of Valley Forge, where I earned my Bachelor's in Pastoral Ministry. Halfway through my college experience, God gave me a vision to move to Philadelphia to start a church. The next day, I ran into a church planter launching the next fall. I joined the launch team, and let’s just say, my life was never the same.

This experience became my launch pad into ministry where I learned to lead, build teams, plan events, and navigate seasons of life while serving the local church. Even though my background wasn’t technical, the church needed someone to lead the production team. This is where I fell in love with this side of ministry—seeing volunteers be the first ones to church, the last ones to leave, and constantly striving to create environments for people to meet Jesus. With The Daniel Group, I’m honored to support churches and other organizations that use technology to advance their mission. I love creating solutions that help leaders confidently lead their teams because they know they’re equipped with systems that are reliable, user-friendly, and not complicated.

How does your previous experience influence your work with AVL systems?

Steven: For me, it's all about the organization's vision. There are so many options in the world of AVL, but there are only a few that are perfect for your vision, budget, and context. As a production director myself, I know the intentionality and effort that goes into leading volunteers every week. Creating systems you can trust and that are easy to hand over to volunteers is a game changer for your leadership. The better leader you can be for your church, the more it will bless your community and ministry. The right AVL solution makes all the difference.

What’s one project or experience at The Daniel Group that you’re particularly proud of?

Steven: My favorite project to date is working with our team to create our ROAR system. It all came from a church planter who needed to load in and out every Sunday. He needed a compact yet powerful system that would be easy for volunteers to use and set up each week. Getting to see a new church begin and knowing the blessing it would be to its community was an exciting project to be a part of.

What do you enjoy most about working at The Daniel Group?

Steven: I love working with YOU, our clients and friends, more than anything. Your passion for your organization, your craft, and your team is inspirational. To get to be creative together and come up with solutions that support your vision is everything for me!

If you could tell churches one thing about AVL technology, what would it be?

Steven: It never hurts to ask! For many years I tried to do it all myself... If I could go back in time, I would reach out more. Give us a call! We’d be happy to help anytime!

What excites you about the future of AVL technology in worship settings?

Steven: The thing that excites me the most about AVL technology and the church is that the limits of creativity are endless. No two churches need to look or sound the same. There are different designs and solutions that are unique for each church!

Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you have?

Steven: The first thing must be my family. There is nothing more important to me in the whole world. But if there was something else, it comes right back to my New Jersey roots... It’s pizza. No matter where I go or what I’m doing, I will never say no to pizza!

What can people expect from working with us?

Steven: The thing that sets us apart is that we are collaborative. We understand that every organization is unique, and that means every solution needs to be unique. We will work with you to deliver what you need to support your church's growth.
